Never Lost

The other day I was waiting on a downtown corner for a friend. We were meeting for lunch. I don’t do well in large crowds of strangers especially when I’m far from home. There were hundreds of people all around me, and nothing was familiar. I remember thinking ‘This is nerve racking, I don’t know anyone, what if I am in the wrong place?’ It was then that I heard my friend's familiar voice calling out my name. She found me! Instant relief!
I think Jesus is like that. He came to Earth to find the lost. He calls each of us by name and opens his arms of love that no matter where we are or how lost we may seem, we are never far from his watchful eyes. Next time you feel lost or alone listen to his soothing voice calling out your name. Run to him, he is that forever friend that waits in the wings and longs to be sought by you.
