When my children were little they thought that mom and dad knew everything. It was such a nice time in my memory......short, but very nice. However, somewhere along the way between childhood and young adulthood, mom and dad fell off the pedestal and my now 'know it all' kids have risen above us. To them, it's as if we both just fell off the truck yesterday.
How many of you have kids that think they know everything? I don't think there is any life issue that at least one of my three kids isn't an authority on.......in their own mind.
I'm not sure it pays to over look or ignore their uninvited comments either, because they tend to confuse your lack of response to these things as total ignorance. It's a wonder we were ever able to make it this far in life without their help.
I told my kids (now soon to be 23yrs, 21yrs and 17yrs) that they should hurry up, move out and make their own way in this world while they still know it all. I can't wait until they have children of their own. I can only hope that when they finally do fall off their pedestals that they won't get too bruised on the way down. In the meantime I'll be sitting in my corner trying not to drool all over myself. That's about all I'm gonna say about that......for now.
I can soooo imagine my dad drooling all over himself in heaven hehehe.
