A Thought About My Neighbour, Suzanne.

I love my next door neighbour.  She laughs so easily that it makes me laugh just thinking about her.  She's one of those people who would give the shirt off her back if it would help someone else who needed it.  We've both found comfort in each other as we've walked the divorce path together; she too has had her husband leave after 25-30 yrs of marriage.  I think there is definitely something in the water in Ajax, it seems that our entire neighbourhood if full of dysfunctional marriages.  I think Kim S will vouch for me there, eh Kimmy?  I believe it was a God appointed thing that I moved to Ajax, right next door to Suzanne.  I have always believed, from the first minute I saw it, that God had hand picked my house just for me, and although I don't hold too tight to material things I do hope I can manage to hold on to it for as long as God enables me to keep up financially.  Anyway, back to Suzanne.  I remember when we first moved in and she threw a "get to know ya" party and invited all the neighbours.  I remember that it made us feel so special and accepted as newbees to Ajax south.
Suzanne's house is always open. There are always people coming and going and she has a special way of making everyone feel welcome and comfortable.  It always smells so good over there too because she is such a terrific cook, baker and homemaker......she really suits her name!
We have fun shopping, eating, laughing and just hanging out together.  Suzanne is the type of person who always listens more than speaks, is never forceful, but is also trustworthy enough to tell me the truth straight out. I love her for that. I so hope it works out for her to keep her house too, but even if she does move, I'm sure we will be close friends for many years to come.
Suzanne has so many friends that I don't know how she keeps up with all of them.  Everyone loves her just because she is so caring and friendly. Her phone never stops ringing when you are with her.  Sometimes I actually feel that she's put herself at everyone's beck and call. But that's just who she is; a giver, nurturer and encourager.  I sure could learn a few things from her, hopefully if I hang out with her long enough, she'll rub off on me. I love you Suzanne! That's all I'll say about that.....for now.

  1. IT isnt nice to make your favourite neighbour cry. Those are very kind words.

I have to say that you always get back from a relationship what you put into it. I have great friends and neighbours and wonderful family. The challenges in my life have been made easier because of these relationships. I wouldn't trade my true friends or neighbours for anything in the world.
